This Y2K-inspired story draws from the eerie liminality of the Backrooms urban myth and the haunting allure of Mark Z.

Danielewski's experimental American horror novel, House of Leaves. A story suspended between the present and future, it enunciates self-discovery at the edge of darkness. It is shadow work

The Backrooms are an urban myth of liminal terror. They exist in limbo between our earthly world and the abysmal unknown.

Two wanderers begin their journey amidst New York City's expansive skyline, the heights offering a fleeting illusion of clarity.

But the further they descend-both physically and mentally-the more they confront the darkness within. They retreat from the light and meet in the caves below, navigating these shadow, liminal spaces together.

Rather than glitching out of reality, they face the Backrooms of their minds through communion. However, this journey remains deeply solitary-no one can escape their own infinite corridors except themselves. After all, they are wanderers, intent on reaching the end of their own infinite Backrooms, even if it means leaving the other behind.
