① White

"The color that stood out the most while photographing this street style story was, without a doubt, white.

Pantone's 2026 Color of the Year, Cloud Dancer, is a soft white inspired by clouds,

and despite the frequent rain and overcast weather this summer,

I noticed that many New Yorkers were naturally incorporating white into their daily outfits.

While plenty of people embraced all-white looks for a clean and refreshing summer style,

I also noticed that many New Yorkers who preferred a more subtle approach incorporated one or more white pieces

— such as a shirt, pants, bag, or shoes—into their everyday outfits.

It was an easy yet effortless way to brighten up their summer styling."

② Shoe Trend: Jelly & Flats

"Another trend that was exciting to see was the return of Jelly Shoes.

If you grew up in the '90s, chances are you've owned a pair at least once.

What used to be a nostalgic childhood shoe has now been

reintroduced in a variety of modern designs, making Jelly Shoes one of this summer's standout fashion items.

While flip-flops continue to be a summer staple in many different styles,

mesh flats have also become one of the go-to shoes for many fashionable women this season.

Some designs still feature the classic open mesh look, while others use finer,

more refined mesh patterns that create a modern and elevated feel."

"One interesting thing about New York is that, for a long time, wearing flip-flops around the city was often seen as too casual or even a little sloppy.

However, that perception has gradually changed over the past few years as the Y2K trend made its comeback.
